Hello again, Mr. God here...again,
It has come to my attention that Monty Python and the Holy Grail still has events where it would play in movie theaters. I don't know the exact theaters and the exact dates, but they are out there. After 37 years after being shown in theaters, Monty Python and the Holy Grail is still continuing to be shown in certain theaters.

Monty Python Spin Offs

Hi, Mr. God here,
I am going to inform all of my viewers about a spin off of Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The hit musical play Spamalot is of course mostly about Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and it also happens to be pretty popular. It features many of the same characters and some of the same scenes, however, it is a little different (for example:  its a musical). If you are interested in seeing this play then see if it will play on a stage near you. If you see it, it is your call on if it was good or not.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail's influence

Hi, Mr. God here,
I am going to talk about Monty Pythons impact on society. Even though it is not very well known, Monty Python and the Holy Grail had a lot of impact on "Saturday Night live," "The Simpsons," and "South Park."It has influenced many comedic writers, movies and shows to do similar things related to Monty Python and the Holy Grail. When you think about it, movies like "Airplane" were influenced by it by having ridiculous, unthinkable, random comedy with little to no main point directed toward one broad setting. Monty Python and the Holy Grail has ridiculous, unthinkable, random comedy set in the Middle Ages, while Airplane has ridiculous, unthinkable, random comedy set in an airplane. The Monty Python crew created a knew genre of random unpredictable comedy.

Mr. God's Review on Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Monty Python and the Holy Grail Review
by Mr. God

There is a time where people become fed up with watching something so predictable and has been done time and time again. When Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones directed the motion picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail, everything is done at random, and logic is thrown out the window. This creates feelings of excitement and interest for the viewers, because it is hard to anticipate just what would happen, and a medieval comedy is extremely rare to come by. This film came out after the hit series Monty Python's Flying Circus which was the start of the Monty Python cast.

The stars of the movie were of the Knights of the Round Table, which consisted of King Arthur (Graham Chapman), Sir Bedevere (Terry Jones), Sir Lancelot (John Cleese), Sir Galahad (Michael Palin), Sir Robin (Eric Idel), and Arther's servant Patsy (Terry Gilliam). Due to a shortage of roles, they had to play a variety of different people, which nearly went unnoticed when I watched the film.

The lack of the materials needed for the medeval film also played a part in the hilarity. Today everyone who seen Monty Python and the Holy Grail would remember the actors using coconuts for the sound effects of horses instead of actually having horses in the film. The cast could not afford horses for the characters to use in the film due to a small budget of a little over $200,000. In fact, they could only afford one horse, which took part when a knight slays an old historian while riding a horse. Other than that one scene, all the horses were replaced with coconuts which was used by the servants of the knights to make the sound of galloping.

The fact that there is no main point to the movie was very rare for its time. The fact that it was different and funny peeked interest in a lot of people. The fact that the film has a lot of "originals" ads to the experience. The introduction of the "killer rabbit" and the "Holy Hand Grenade" is considered a Monty Python original.

I personally really liked the film. It was different and hilarious at the same time, which peeked my interest at the beginning. I don't think I would ever think that the lines they say in the film are "old" or "uncool now" because I laugh at every line they say. I loved this film.

The Knights Who Say "NI"

The Knights Who Say NI youtube video
+ a scene with Roger the Shrubber

"The Nights who say Ni" is one of the most well known lines about Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The scene was simple to act out, easy to understand, and freakin hilarious. The Knights who say Ni have the power of being incredibly annoying to anyone who dares to come face to face with them. The yell "NI" at their enemies, and their prey, and they would either be so annoyed that they do what the Knights who say Ni's orders, or they would probably die because they ripped their own ears out. The Knights who say Ni have one weakness though, and that is the word "IT." The word it for the Knights who say Ni are just as annoyed by the word "IT" as others are annoyed by the word "NI." The Knights who say Ni love shrubbery's, and they would make wandering travelers buy one for them.

When King Arthur met the Knights who say Ni, he and his companion Sir Bedivere were forced to find a shrubbery for the Knights who say Ni. After nearly annoying an old woman to death by saying "Ni," Arthur and Bedivere are met by a man named Roger. He is also known as "Roger the Shrubber." Roger sells shrubbery's and then the Knights who say Ni finally gotten their shrubbery. When the Knights who say Ni requested a second shrubbery, Arthur refused and defeated the Knights who say Ni entirely by accident when he has a conversation with Sir Robin. The conversation consisted of using the word "IT" which the Knights who way Ni were afraid of. The leader of the Knights who say Ni accidentally was caught in an endless cycle of saying the word "IT"when the leader kept saying "Oh, I said IT again."Thus they were finally defeated.
